Damp Proofing in Portsmouth
Survey
Our surveyor will arrive at the property at a fixed appointment time; he is full equipped to carry out a full diagnostic inspection. The inspection is generally non invasive using an electronic moisture meter to gauge moisture readings within wall plaster. Occasionally it may be necessary (with permission) to lift carpets; take plaster samples etc in order to gain a full perspective of the problem.
Our cavity wall tie inspection involves drilling 10mm holes at random spacing to physically observe wall ties with the aid of an endoscope which is inserted into the hole. The hole is then plugged with matching mortar.
In the case of Dry/ Wet Rot attacks it may be necessary to carry out explorative works in order to gauge the depth of the problem, this may involve removal of wall plaster boarding floorboards etc, in any case the surveyor will endeavour to keep you informed at all stages of this inspection and discuss with you the logistics in carrying out whatever work will be required and a quotation given before commencement.
Our surveyors have recently undertaken training by The school of Waterproofing and are qualified to design waterproofing systems for basements.
